Parts of Long Valley Road and culverts are being replaced. Access to boat landing which includes canoe and kayak rental, are not accessible. No water craft rentals available until the road is done.
A road to the boat launch at Wyalusing State Park that was severely damaged by heavy rains will be closed for up to a month during a major repair project. Long Valley Road has a history of temporary closures due to washouts from storms and Mississippi River flooding. The repair project will begin today and continue through Oct. 9. It will involve the removal and replacement of six culverts, the cleaning of ditches and site restoration along the road. If the project is completed ahead of schedule, the road will be re-opened to the public at that time. Construction is expected to reduce the impact of future heavy rain events, which should result in safer conditions, minimize temporary road closures and reduce damage to road infrastructure. There is a county park boat launch and beach just south of Wyalusing State Park and several public boat launches north of the park in Prairie du Chien.
