Wyalusing State Park to Offer Weekend Programs

Movies in the Park will begin this Friday, June 28th. Family friendly, environmentally themed movies will be presented on a regular basis at the Peterson Shelter. The original version of The Lorax, a short animated film based on the popular, childrens’ book by Dr. Seuss is the first selection of the season. It will begin at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, June 29th, a Junior Ranger Program, provided by Effigy Mounds State Park Staff, will start at 2:00 p.m. This program, intended for children of all ages, will be held along the Sentinel Ridge Trail, near the Passenger Pigeon Monument.

Jon Stravers and Big Blue Sky will perform a variety of original music inspired by the Mississippi River in the Driftless Region. Jon’s music includes blues, folks, bluegrass, reggae and music with the natural rhythms of life. Big Blue Sky is a changing line up of local musicians. Jon and Big Blue Sky will perform at 7 p.m. in the Peterson Shelter.

Movies in the Park and Jon Stravers and Big Blue Sky are provided by Friends of Wyalusing State Park. Wisconsin State Park admission stickers are required on all vehicles. For more information on these programs, please call the park at 608-996-2261.
