Road Construction and Wyalusing Beach

"Two Seasons: Winter and Road Construction"

Most Wisconsin travelers are familiar with the adage. Highway X, is undergoing re-construction. The following announcement is from Grant County:

  • County X between Wyalusing Beach Rd. (Wyalusing) and State Park Rd. - Road Will be Closed to Thru Traffic - (Open to Local Traffic Only)
  • County X between State Park Rd. and County P - *Expect Delays*

Re-Paving work began about one week ago by the Grant County Highway Department. During the first stage, the old blacktop was ground up, trucked away, the roadbed prepared for new blacktop.

"CTH X will remain open during construction. There will be delays. There will be machinery such as a motor grader, a loader, rollers and trucks working to prepare the surface of the gravel for the new asphalt mat. Later, currently scheduled to begin this coming Monday, July 20th, there will be a paving crew working on CTH X. We should have the new asphalt surface on by the end of July. Until then it will be a gravel surface as it is now. Thank you for your help."
Dave Lambert - Grant County Highway Department

During the process, thus far, the Grant County Highway department has controlled the dust with frequent waterings and rolling of the road surface.

So, campers, take it easy on the road. Construction is done on week days.
