Friends of Wyalusing sponsored a silent auction the day of Spirits of Wyalusing State Park on September 27, 2008. The featured items of the auction were hand made, one-of-a-kind lap quilts and decorative throw pillows. Each one featured photos of Wyalusing State Park printed on fabric. The fabric for the quilts and pillows came from last years displays of sweatshirts and T-shirts..
A photograph of Knob Hill Picnic Shelter was also offered for auction. The photo was featured in the photography show sponsored by local business – Picket Fence. The photo, along with others, was displayed throughout downtown Prairie du Chien.
People who attended the Spirits of Wyalusing were able to bid on the items as many times as they wished. The auction was held during the afternoon. and evening with winning bids announced at 9:00pm.
Another silent auction is planned for the next Spirits of Wyalusing State Park.
Spirits of Wyalusing State Park
Just over 250 people walked along a luminary lit trail at Wyalusing State Park on Saturday evening, September 27, 2008. The free event was held from 7:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. Over three dozen pumpkins carved by a Prairie du Chien Girl Scout Troop also decorated the trails and shelters.
People were divided into five groups. Each group traveled, with a guide, stopping to listen to volunteer re-enactors. The re-enactors related events and people reflecting on the history of Wyalusing State Park.
Guests were treated to snacks prepared by the Friends of Wyalusing after the walk.
